Longshot Blessed Flyer (c, 2, Dialed In–Introspection, by Overanalyze) just got his nose in front of He is No Lie (Early Voting) on the wire to win the Bashford Manor Stakes at Churchill Downs Sunday. The 31-1 outsider settled back off the pace while a pair of 'TDN Rising Stars presented by Hagyard,' separated themselves from the field, with even-money favorite Hey Tuff Guy (Life Is Good) and 9-2 shot He is No Lie battling on the front end through fractions of :22.10 and :44.69. He is No Lie took charge in upper stretch and had a three-length advantage with a furlong to run, but Blessed Flyer was gobbling up ground down the center of the track to just nab the pacesetter on the line. Captain Luke (Knicks Go) was third. The time for the six furlongs was 1:09.98.
Blessed Flyer closed late to graduate on debut at Keeneland Apr. 16 for DNG Blessed Stable and trainer Michel Douaihy.
