Breeders' Cup Bulletin: Saturday

Dennis' Moment | Coady

Dennis' Moment (Tiznow), who stumbled badly at the start of Friday's GI TVG Breeders' Cup Juvenile before finishing eighth as the 4-5 favorite, came out of the mishap unscathed.

“He has no scrapes or anything like that,” Jason Loutsch, racing manager for owner Albaugh Family Stables, said Saturday morning. “I saw the pictures [of the stumble]. I only watched the replay once, it was too tough to watch, but so far it looks like we dodged a bullet [with injury]. He's a tough horse and it's amazing that he even continued to run on, it's amazing.”

Suedois, Fleeting Withdrawn From Mile, FM Turf…

Suedois (Fr) (Le Havre {Ire}) and Fleeting (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}) were scratched from the GI Breeders' Cup Mile and GI Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf, respectively. Neither horse passed a Saturday morning veterinary examination and were withdrawn.

“There's nothing much to it at all,” trainer David O'Meara said, saying that Suedois had developed a minor infection in a hoof. “If the race had been tomorrow, he'd have been fine. It was just a question of timing.”

Ryan Moore, who was originally booked on Fleeting, was rerouted to Just Wonderful (Dansili {GB}), replacing William Buick.
