Delaware Handicap Goes Through Dunbar Road

Dunbar Road | Sarah Andrew

Dunbar Road (Quality Road) lays over a field of eight entered for Saturday's GII Delaware H.

Last term's GI Alabama S. and GII Mother Goose S. heroine followed a third-place finish behind Blue Prize (Arg) (Pure Prize) in Keeneland's GI Juddmonte Spinster S. with her lone career off-the-board finish, reporting home fifth behind that foe in the GI Breeders' Cup Distaff at Santa Anita.

Trained by Chad Brown, the Peter Brant colorbearer got right back on track with a visually impressive, come-from-behind victory while making her 4-year-old debut in the Shawnee S. at Churchill Downs May 23.

Bellera (Bernardini), winner of Aqueduct's GIII Comely S. in late November, returns to dirt for Todd Pletcher following an off-the-board finish as the 2-1 favorite in the grassy Ginger Punch S. versus Florida-breds at Gulfstream June 6. Lucky Move (Lookin At Lucky), second behind Bellera in Aqueduct's Ladies H. Jan. 19, was last seen upsetting the local prep Obeah S. at 42-1 June 17.

Always Shopping (Awesome Again), last year's GII Gazelle S. heroine, and GIII Rood and Riddle Dowager S. winner and GIII Modesty H. runner-up Vexatious (Giant's Causeway) have been cross-entered for Belmont's GII Ruffian S.
