Cogburn To Stand At WinStar For $30,000

North American track record-setter Cogburn (Not This Time) will stand at WinStar Farm for an opening fee of $30,000 S&N, the farm announced Tuesday. The GI Jaipur Stakes winner arrived in good order at WinStar Farm and will be available for showing at WinStar's open houses each day Nov. 6-15, between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors are welcome without an appointment during the designated times.

Cogburn set a North American record for 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf in that Jaipur win, completing the distance in a final time of :59.80 which easily eclipsed the previous record of 1:00.21 and earned him a Beyer Speed Figure of 114. Following the Jaipur, Cogburn proved an authoritative winner of the $2 million GII Turf Sprint Stakes at Kentucky Downs where he ran six furlongs on turf in 1:07.68, just missing another course record.

All told, Cogburn finished first or second in 11-of-16 lifetime starts and banked $2,422,630 racing for Clark Brewster, William and Corinne Heiligbrodt and trainer Steve Asmussen.
