Cheveley Park Buys Unfortunately

Unfortunately | Racing Post

Cheveley Park Stud has purchased Group 1-winning 2-year-old Unfortunately (Ire) (Society Rock {Ire}). Previously campaigned by Jeff Laughton and trainer Karl Burke's wife, Elaine, Unfortunately has won three of his six starts and has twice finished second. He won the G2 Prix Robert Papin on July 23 before taking the G1 Darley Prix Morny on Aug. 20 at Deauville. Unfortunately is set to line up next in the G1 Middle Park S. at Newmarket on Sept. 30.

Cheveley Park Managing Director Chris Richardson said, “We are delighted to have formed an association with trainer Karl Burke, who was instrumental in us acquiring Unfortunately, for Cheveley Park Stud. Being by Society Rock, we feel Unfortunately will, in time, add an interesting commercial

opportunity for breeders and he enhances the portfolio of stallions currently standing at Cheveley Park Stud.”
