Charlton Optimistic About Fair Eva

Fair Eva (GB) (Frankel {GB}), the first stakes winner for her sire last summer, has wintered well, according to trainer Roger Charlton, and is considered a Guineas possibility.

Fair Eva won on debut in the Juddmonte colours at Haydock last June before taking the G3 Princess Margaret Juddmonte S. the following month, but suffered defeats as the favourite in both the G2 Lowther S. and G2 Rockfel S. thereafter, finishing third and second, respectively.

Charlton said the chestnut has progressed physically over the winter.

“Fair Eva has done very well and looks very well. She has grown a lot and put weight on,” he said. “She is a bigger filly than this time last year. We will see how she goes in the spring, but hopefully she might be a Guineas filly.”

Charlton also offered an update on another of his Frankel juvenile winners, Atty Persse (Ire), who was purchased privately by Godolphin after winning his lone juvenile outing at Sandown Sept. 14.

“Atty Persse has done well, but there are no obvious plans,” the trainer said. “He probably wants a mile and a quarter to begin with.”
