Catalina Cruiser (Union Rags) who arrived at Lane's End Farm in Versailles Kentucky Monday morning, will stand at a fee of $20,000 for the 2020 breeding season, the farm announced Tuesday.

A son of the leading cumulative fourth crop sire, Catalina Cruiser retired as a five-time graded stakes winner with back-to-back wins in the GII San Diego H. and GII Pat O'Brien S. He broke the stakes record at Belmont Park with his win in the GII True North S., where he covered the 6 ½ furlongs in 1:14:85.

“It's pretty exciting to have a fourth-generation sire back at Lane's End, which is just not something I ever thought I'd see,” said Bill Farish. “He's just gorgeous to look at, and I think the breeders are going to love what they see. He's a horse we've been waiting to get back here. Being a `home' horse, we've had our eyes on him all along, and we were hoping we would be able to see this day.”

Catalina Cruiser will be available for inspection during the Lane's End open house Monday, Nov. 4 through Sunday, Nov. 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.

Farish said that even before the fee was announced, interest in the new stallion was significant. “He gets his looks more from Union Rags than he does from his bottom side,” said Farish of the five-year-old, who is out of a winning daughter of Mineshaft, Sea Gull. “He's a big, scopey horse with great length, and I think he's going to get tremendous-looking yearlings and should be a very commercial horse. We've had a lot of inquiries and a lot of holds on him, so we think he's going to fill up pretty quickly.”
