Capri Meets With Setback

Capri | Racing Post

Aidan O'Brien has announced dual Classic winner Capri (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) has sustained a bruised shoulder and is doubtful for the June 1 G1 Coronation Cup at Epsom. The Galileo colt, winner of the G1 Irish Derby and G1 St Leger last season, made a winning return at Naas on Apr. 13 in the G3 Alleged S.

“Capri had a little setback after his run at Naas,” said O'Brien.

“He bruised a shoulder and is just not 100% yet. So I wouldn't say he will make Epsom [Coronation Cup].”

In other Ballydoyle news, Saxon Warrior (Jpn) (Deep Impact {Jpn}) has been given a clean bill of health following his G1 QIPCO 2000 Guineas success at Newmarket on Saturday and will head for the June 2 G1 Investec Derby.

O'Brien said, “The lads are thinking of the Derby for Saxon Warrior.”
