The bay colt, an 8-1 shot, was away well and was soon at the head of affairs, setting fractions of :22.04 and :45.73 with New Frontier (Speightstown) in close attendance. He extended his advantage down the lane and continued to find more even as Bourbon Calling (Dialed In) closed late for second. New Frontier was third. Get the Prize breezed a quarter in :21 flat at last year's OBS March sale before selling for $410,000. He is bred on the same Candy Ride–Giant's Causeway cross as Horse of the Year Gun Runner and on the extremely potent Candy Ride–Storm Cat cross that has produced the likes of champion Shared Belief and last week's GII San Vicente S. upsetter Sparky Ville. Get the Prize's dam is a half-sister to graded stakes winner Nothing But Fun (Dixie Union).
