Gordon Elliott's high class juvenile Beckford (GB) (Bated Breath {GB}) will get another chance at Group 1 glory in the G1 Goffs Vincent O'Brien National S. at The Curragh on Sunday. The colt lost very little in defeat when going down by half a length to Sioux Nation (Scat Daddy) in the G1 Keeneland Phoenix S. at The Curragh Aug. 13 over six furlongs and Elliott is looking forward to seeing the Newtown Anner Stud owned runner going an extra furlong at the weekend. “Beckford is in good old form,” Elliott said in Sunday. “He's in the National Stakes and will work early in the week. If he doesn't go there, he'll go to Newmarket for the Middle Park Stakes but I'd say all being well he'll go to the Curragh, and the step up to seven furlongs will suit him. He's in good form and we're looking forward to running him.” Newtown Anner Stud obviously have full confidence in the ability of their G2 Railway S. winner having spent £200,000 acquiring his half-sister by Mukhadram (GB) (Shamardal) at Goffs UK last week.
