Beale Named Irish National Stud CEO

Cathal Beale

Cathal Beale has been named chief executive officer of the Irish National Stud, succeeding John Osborne. He will commence the role on July 1.

Beale, a graduate of the 2007 Stud Management Program at the Irish National Stud, later completed the Godolphin Flying Start and has held positions with Paddy Power, Racing Post, Forenaghts Stud and Tinnakill Bloodstock. Beale holds a B.A. from UCD and a Masters in Management from Smurfit Business School.

“This is a wonderful opportunity and a job I have trained for during my entire career,” Beale said. “It's an exciting challenge and I'm fortunate to be running with the same management team who are both focused and passionate, same board of directors. I am confident it will be business as usual and look forward to meeting clients both old and new in the near future.”

Matt Dempsey, chairman of the Irish National Stud, said, “Following a vigorous recruitment process, which received applications worldwide, we are delighted to announce Cathal Beale as the new chief executive of the Irish National Stud. Cathal brings a wealth of practical experience and knowledge to his new role. We wish him every success as he succeeds John Osborne, who has made the Irish National Stud one of the world's leading stud farms.”
