Auguste Rodin Heads To Naas

Observations on the European Racing Scene turns the spotlight on the best European races of the day, highlighting well-pedigreed horses early in their careers, horses of note returning to action and young runners that achieved notable results in the sales ring. Saturday's Observations features a son of
Group 1 winner Rhododendron (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}).

4.18 Naas, Mdn, €16,000, 2yo, 7fT
AUGUSTE RODIN (IRE) (Deep Impact {Jpn}), Ballydoyle's exciting son of the triple Group 1 winner Rhododendron (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) who was a possibly unlucky runner-up at the Curragh at the start of last month, is expected back in action following his withdrawal from an often-important maiden as the ground turned yielding there on Sunday. Already favourite for the 2000 Guineas in some ante-post lists, the January-foaled bay is poised for an assessment from Seamie Heffernan as he tackles a smart-looking field including Yuesheng Zhang's re-opposing Dubawi Spectre (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), the Jessie Harrington-trained 410,000gns Book 1 graduate out of the G3 Prix Imprudence winner Spectre (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}) who was fourth behind him in that Curragh maiden.
