The catalogue for the single-session Arqana Breeze Up Sale, scheduled for May 12 at 1 p.m., has been released. A total of 169 juveniles will breeze at 11:30 a.m. over the Deauville-La Touques grass course the day prior. In 2017, the sale grossed €12,948,000 from 94 sold (76%) of 124 offered, with an average of €137,745 and a median of €82,500. Walk in the Sun (Street Sense), who topped the 2017 proceedings at €1.4 million is now two-for-two after a Feb. 27 score at Lingfield for Phoenix Thoroughbreds, while 2016 graduate Le Brivido (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}), winner of the G3 Jersey S., was runner-up in last year's G1 Abu Dhabi Poule d'Essai des Poulains.

There is plenty of sire power on display, as 70 stallions have progeny catalogued, among them Frankel (GB) (1), Siyouni (Fr) (18); Dabirsim (Fr) (11), whose Different League (Fr) was first past the post in the G3 Albany S. as a juvenile before two Group 1 placings; and a sextet of juveniles from the last crop of the late, great Scat Daddy, as well as champion sire Kitten's Joy (1) and shuttler supreme More Than Ready (2).

First-season sires from both the States and Europe are also well-represented, including G1 Derby hero Australia (GB) (4), MG1SW Kingman (GB) (2), G1 Prix Morny scorer No Nay Never (3), GI Haskell Invitational S. hero Verrazano (1) and MG1SW Toronado (Ire) (2). Fully 50% of the lots are out of or siblings to black-type performers, with 30 2-year-olds already possessing a group or listed-winning sibling. There are also the offspring of 42 black-type winners, while 38 juveniles qualify to run in the €250,000 October Yearling Sale Criterium at ParisLongchamp on Oct. 5, which is in its second running in 2018.

Willie Browne's Mocklershill leads all consignors with 26 lots catalogued, and lot 28, a Sommerabend (GB) half-brother to MGSW Itsinthepost (Fr) (American Post {GB}) and lot 126, a Data Link (War Front) half-brother to MGISW The Factor, both hail from his draft.

Earlier in the sale is lot 14, a daughter of Invincible Spirit (Ire) from the Mayfield Stables consignment. Out of G2 Prix de Pomone heroine Peinture Rare (Ire) (Sadler's Wells), the April foal's dam is a half-sister to MG1SW Peintre Celebre (Nureyev).

His Highness the Aga Khan's Siyouni (Fr) boasts the largest number of offspring to go under the hammer, and one of his highlights is lot 112, a Powerstown Stud-consigned son of Dyveke (Ger) (Lando {Ger}). The bay is a half-brother to GSW and G1 Preis der Diana runner-up Diamond Dove (Ger) (Dr. Fong).

The legacy of Scat Daddy only continues to expand since his untimely passing, as he has proven effective on both sides of the Atlantic, and 2018 is looking particularly excellent, as 2017 GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf hero Mendelssohn eyes a GI Kentucky Derby berth in the G2 UAE Derby on Saturday. Consigned by Paul Basquin's Haras du Saubouas is lot 121, out of the listed winner Flip Flop (Fr) (Zieten), who also ran second in the GI Yellow Ribbon S. Qurbaan (Speightstown), this colt's half-brother, is a dual listed winner, and has also completed the trifecta in the G3 Grand Prix de Vichy.

One lot of particular interest is the lone Frankel (GB) in the catalogue–and the only one to be offered at a European breeze-up sale in 2018–lot 144, a son of Grade III-placed Kiss A Miss (Kissin Kris). The March-foaled bay is consigned by Ecurie La Frenee and is a half-brother to GI Garden City S. heroine Backseat Rhythm (El Corredor).

Church Farm Stables offers lot 151, a half-brother to GSW and multiple Classic-placed Storm The Stars (Sea The Stars {Ire}) by Speightstown. The bay's second dam is blue hen Mariah's Storm (Rahy), responsible for champion Giant's Causeway (Storm Cat) and his full-sister and Classic producer You'resothrilling.

Showcasing (GB) is known for producing precocious juveniles, and his son out of a half-sister to Classic hero Al Wukair (Ire) (Dream Ahead) is advertised as lot 156. The Longways Stables offering's third dam is French Group 1 winner Caerlina (Ire) (Caerleon).
