A Look Ahead With Andrew Mead

Andrew Mead | Castlebridge

1) Horse you are most looking forward to seeing this season?

AM: Seeing Racing Post Trophy winner Marcel (Ire) (Lawman {Fr}) race, trained by a good bloke and top trainer in Pete Chapple-Hyam, purchased as a yearling by my friend and colleague Troy Steve.

2) A stallion who could feature prominently (doesn't have to be first season)?

AM: I really like Sir Percy (GB) as a great value sire, his stock are talented with generally good temperaments.

3) Positive change you would like to see for the industry in 2016?

AM: I'd like to see the BHA and Weatherbys look at ways of reducing the huge costs imposed on UK owners in sustaining the bureaucracy of racing. The BHA, in particular, seems to still be adding to those costs.
