Network Gelding Tops Land Rover Day One

Storm Of Light | Goffs

Storm Of Light (Fr) (lot 255), a gelded 3-year-old son of Network (Ger), was one of six store horses to reach six figures during the opening session of the Goffs Land Rover Sale on Wednesday, and he topped trade when fetching €185,000 from Aidan O'Ryan and Gordon Elliott.

That team partnered to take home three of the six six-figure lots, their haul also including lot 159, a gelded son of Kalanisi (Ire) for €135,000 and lot 216, a gelded son of No Risk At All (Fr) named Deja Rouge (Fr) for €130,000.

From 220 offerings on the day, 185 found new homes (84%) and brought in a cumulative €7,846,500. The average was €42,414 and the median €37,000.

The Land Rover sale was dealt a blow last week when a bid to government to grant a quarantine exemption to buyers from countries that currently have that requirement was denied. Thus, travelers from the likes of Britain, France, Spain and America, among others, are unable to attend the sale.
