A total of 488 horses has been catalogued for the largest-ever Tattersalls February Sale, scheduled for Thursday and Friday, Feb. 2 and 3. The catalogue for the sale can be viewed online at www.tattersalls.com and print copies will be available from Monday, Jan. 16.

Consisting of 209 fillies in and out of training, 43 broodmares, 182 colts/geldings in and out of training, 31 yearlings and 23 2-year-olds, the February Sale will feature drafts from such prominent owner/breeders Cheveley Park Stud, Juddmonte Farm, Godolphin and Shadwell, who have a combined 90 lots among them.

Godolphin has the largest consignment in terms of raw numbers with 57 offerings, who will try to match or surpass the accomplishments of Doldrums (Bernardini), who topped last year's February sale on a bid of 145,000gns. Headliners among this year's draft from the 'Boys in Blue' could come from a trio of group- or listed-placed fillies, including Beraymi (Ire) (Manduro {Ger}), third in the Prix Joubert at Saint-Cloud last September.

The consignment from Juddmonte includes Piaffe (Mizzen Mast), a full-sister to G1SW Giant Treasure and GSW Jibboom, while Shadwell puts forth Murhibaany (Elusive Quality), a half-sister to the stakes winners Haatheq (Seeking the Gold) and Farhaan (Jazil).

“The Tattersalls February Sale goes from strength to strength and this year's catalogue is not only the largest ever assembled for this fixture, but also a catalogue of real quality,” said Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony. “The dam of 2016 G1 St Leger winner Harbour Law (GB) (Lawman {Fr}) was purchased at last year's February Sale, and there is no shortage of high-class breeding stock in this year's catalogue, as well as horses in training, two year olds and yearlings to appeal to the usual diverse mix of domestic and international buyers which typifies sales of this nature at Tattersalls.”

The February Sale begins immediately after the TBA Stallion Parade, which begins at 10:45 a.m. Feb. 2 and the sale will start Feb. 3 at 11 a.m.
