Goffs Yorton Sale Suspended For One Year Until 2025

The Goffs Yorton Sale will not take place in 2024, and will instead return on Sept. 4, 2025, Goffs and Yorton's David Futter confirmed on Wednesday. The decision was made by Futter, who felt that although the quality of horses at Yorton was up to its usual high standard, the quantity did not justify the sale taking place this year. Saint Davy Tops Goffs UK December P2P Sale

There were six lots that sold for six-figures at the Goffs UK December P2P Sale at Yorton Farm on Thursday, led by lot 5, Saint Davy (Fr) (Balko {Fr}). Sold by Monbeg Stables, the 4-year-old brought £270,000 from Stroud Coleman and Jonjo O'Neill. He was a debut winner at Quakerstown in November. Invictus Smart (Fr) (Masterstroke) (lot 9) also reached the £200,000 mark and was knocked down to Highflyer Bloodstock. George Stanners Appointed Bloodstock Manager of Yorton Farm

George Stanners has been named the new Bloodstock Manager of Yorton Farm. Previously with DBS which became Goffs UK straight from school 17 years ago, Stanners will begin his new role on Jan. 1, 2022. He will continue to serve as an auctioneer at most Goffs sales in Kildare and Doncaster. Additionally, Goffs UK will continue to conduct all sales held at Yorton Farm. Classic Getaway Equals Record

For the second time in a month at Yorton Farm, a record for a point to point horse was reached on Thursday when Classic Getaway (Ire) (Getaway {Ger}) (lot 7) matched the £570,000 made by Jonbon at the Goffs UK November P2P Sale. Classic Getaway was one of 31 horses offered at the Goffs UK December P2P Sale, and he was bought by Tom Malone and Gordon Elliott.
