Spendthrift Unveils B. Wayne Hughes Visitors Center

Lexington, KY - Spendthrift Farm opened the doors to its new B. Wayne Hughes Visitors Center on Tuesday, Nov. 1 as part of the lead-up to the Breeders' Cup World Championships. Named in honor of the farm's late founder, the 7,000 square-foot, two story facility will serve as the home for Spendthrift's tourism. Old Friends To Partially Reopen to Tourists

Beginning Monday, June 15, Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Facility in Georgetown, KY, will reopen to tourists on a limited basis and with COVID-19 protocols in place, the organization announced Monday. In light of the spread of the virus, Old Friends shut down their daily walking tours Mar. 15, but it has opted to reopen to private groups (five people or fewer) while observing the protocols mandated by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Department of Public Health.
