National Stud Undergoes Management Change

The National Stud in Newmarket has undergone a management restructure ahead of the 2022 breeding season, with Tim Lane leaving his role as manager and Anna Kerr assuming the day-to-day running of the stud. Lord 'Teddy' Grimthorpe, who was announced as the new chairman in November, will become executive chairman for the forthcoming season, and former manager Joe Grimwade has returned as head of stud operations. Jackson Named National Stud Nominations Manager

Jamie Jackson has been appointed nominations manager for The National Stud. Jackson gained work experience at Whitsbury Manor Stud and New England Stud before joining the BHA graduate programme, during which he was placed at the National Stud for eight weeks, after which he stayed on. Lope Y Fernandez (Ire) (Lope De Vega {Ire}-Black Dahlia {GB}, by Dansili {GB}), a Group 3-winning 2-year-old who was five times Group 1-placed throughout his career, has been retired from racing and will enter stud at the National Stud in 2022. National Stud Class Graduates

Despite the ongoing restrictions due to the coronavirus, the 2020 National Stud Diploma ceremony took place via live stream from the Joan Westbrook Lecture Theatre on Friday, the stud announced on Saturday. Besides receiving a National Stud Diploma in Stud Practice and Management, the graduates also earned a 1st 4 Sport Level 3 Certificate in Thoroughbred Stud Practice. Anna Kerr Appointed COO for The National Stud

Anna Kerr, previously the manager of Goodwood Racecourse's sponsorship portfolio, has been appointed the Chief Operating Officer of The National Stud effective immediately, the Newmarket stud announced on Monday. Kerr first gained experience in the industry under her father, bloodstock agent Bert Kerr, and she is also a graduate of the Irish National Stud Thoroughbred Breeding Course.
