Thoroughbred racing cancellations

Heavy rain showers and thunderstorms in the Wilmington area caused officials to cancel the remainder of the races at Delaware Park Thursday. Racing was abandoned following the fifth of nine scheduled races at the track. Live racing is scheduled to resume at Delaware Park Friday.

Live racing at Parx was cancelled Tuesday and Wednesday in the wake of a winter storm which moved through the Philadelphia area Monday night. Frigid temperatures and wintry conditions also forced the cancellation of live racing both days at Mahoning Valley in Austintown, Ohio. Additional cancellations include Tuesday's card at Louisiana Downs in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Live racing at Parx was cancelled Monday. Temperatures in the Philadelphia area hovered in the upper 20's during the day with forecasted snow expected by the afternoon. Sam Houston Race Park also cancelled its Monday card due to inclement weather conditions. Live racing is expected to return at Parx Tuesday and at Sam Houston on Friday.
