Bongard Stakes and secured his third victory in a row last out Oct. 27 at this venue in the Sleepy Hollow Stakes. Wynstock Edges Cornell In Los Alamitos Derby Photo

Back at the site of his GII Los Alamitos Futurity upset last December, Wynstock returned to the Los Alamitos winner's circle Saturday in perhaps the most unlikely way. Entered off three straight disappointing efforts in the GIII Southwest Stakes, the GI Santa Anita Derby and most recently, the Desert Code Stakes on turf at Santa Anita May 19, one of two Bob Baffert runners had previously done his best running from the front. But he was outrun to the front by race favorite Tapalo (Tapiture) who rocketed out to a...

8th-Saratoga, $110,000, Alw, 6-7, (NW1$X), 3yo/up, 6 1/2f, 1:14.96, ft, 8 lengths. JEFFERSON STREET (c, 3, Street Sense--Apiary, by Bernardini), in his second career start, began 2024 with a third-place finish behind Be You (Curlin) at Gulfstream Park in early March. The homebred then splashed home impressively with a nine-length score at Keeneland Apr. 11. Stepping up against optional claimers on the Derby undercard, the dark bay was a well-beaten third before being installed as the 5-2 second choice here. The colt tracked favorite El Capi (Maclean's Music) from the...

JEFFERSON STREET (c, 3, Street Sense--Apiary, by Bernardini) proved the third time was the charm, breaking his maiden in his Keeneland debut Thursday. Unveiled at Saratoga last summer, we finished third but notably ten lengths behind the winner, next-out GI Champagne S. runner up General Partner (Speightstown). Soloshot Alone on the Wire in Lady Finger, First Stakes Winner for Sire

Soloshot (Solomini) was the short favorite at even-money for this stakes debut, but produced an effort similar to her career debut, going coast-to-coast in the Lady Finger S. to become Solomini (by Curlin)'s first stakes winner. A dominant 7 3/4-length victress at first calling Aug. 27 in an off-turf baby dash at Saratoga against a state-bred maiden field, Soloshot broke like one here and quickly establish control over the pace from two off the rail. Putting a comfortable margin on Redwineandwhiskey (War Dancer) entering the straight, she responded when roused...
