Full Complement Of Irish Racecourses Agree To Media Rights Deal

All 26 Irish racecourses have approved the Racecourse Media Group (RMB)/SIS Media Rights deal and have authorised the Association of Irish Racecourses (AIR) to sign the contracts on their behalf, AIR announced on Friday. The deal will begin on Jan. 1, 2024. In May, 21 of the racecourses agreed to the deal, with Kilbeggan, Roscommon, Sligo, Limerick and Thurles Racecourses rejecting it. Race Date Moved at Roscommon

Following a request from Roscommon Racecourse, Horse Racing Ireland have transferred the Roscommon meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, July 5 (evening meeting) to Monday, July 4 (evening meeting). The meeting will now close for entries by 12 noon Wednesday, June 29 with declarations to run to be made by 10am Saturday, July 2. Race programme details will be forthcoming.

Irish trainer Ger Lyons reached his 1,000th-winner milestone when Offiah (Ire) (New Bay {GB}) won the Class Grass H. at Roscommon on Monday. Aboard the 5-1 shot was Colin Keane, who was also in the saddle for Lyons's first two Classic winners-2020 G1 Irish 2000 Guineas victor Siskin (First Defence) and 2020 G1 Irish Oaks heroine Even So (Ire) (Camelot {GB}). Prize Money Restored for Irish EBF Auction and Median Series Races

Prize money levels have been restored to their pre-COVID-19 levels for each race in the Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction Series and the new Irish EBF Median Sires Series, the Irish European Breeders' Fund announced on Monday. Each race series had its prize money cut per race by €1,000 as a result of the coronavirus, but the Irish EBF stepped in to return prize money levels to pre-COVID.
