Zara Tindall MBE has been appointed patron of the charity Retraining of Racehorses (RoR), which is dedicated to the welfare and retraining of retired racehorses. The Retraining of Racehorses Racing to Cricket event, which will take place on Sunday, Sept. 3 at Wormsley Cricket Grounds, has added a nomination to champion stayer Stradivarius (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) to the live auction. Six retired racehorses will parade in the paddock for the Retraining of Racehorses Parade at Newmarket's Rowley Mile during the Cambridgeshire Meeting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24. Sponsored by Juddmonte, the parade features six different disciplines that Thoroughbreds are retrained for, and which Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) supports through the staging of competitions and classes. HEROS has become the new primary partner for British horseracing's official welfare charity, Retraining of Racehorses (RoR). The aftercare and retraining specialist centre in Oxfordshire will provide specialist care and support for horses at their first step out of racing beginning in August.
