$425K Chameleon On Top As Book 3 Opens at Keeneland November

LEXINGTON, KY - The Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale entered its Book 3 section Saturday in Lexington. Leading the day's trade was the 4-year-old broodmare Chameleon (Candy Ride {Arg}), who sold for $425,000 to the bid of Terri Burch of Stoneway Farm. The mare, in foal to Practical Joke, was bred and consigned by Mt. Brilliant Farm. During the session, 243 horses grossed $15,012,500 for an average of $61,780 and a median of $50,000. Arrogate Filly to Yoshida

A filly from the first crop of champion Arrogate sold for $1-million to the internet bid of Katsumi Yoshida midway through Wednesday's second session of the OBS Spring Sale. The gray is out of multiple graded stakes winner Amen Hallelujah (Montbrook). She was consigned by Mayberry Farm on behalf of Steve Spielman's Nice Guys Stable, which purchased her for $150,000 at last year's Keeneland September sale.

Classic Empire Filly Sets Quarter-Mile Mark at OBS

The under-tack show for next week's Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training continued Tuesday with a livelier track that saw six horses break the :10 flat mark and a filly by Classic Empire turn in the fastest quarter-mile work of the week so far. Working early in the day's first set Tuesday, a chestnut filly from the first crop of juvenile champion Classic Empire (hip 317) zipped her quarter-mile in :20 2/5.
