Una Tormey has been appointed the new Chief Executive of the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders' Association (ITBA). Tormey began her new role on Dec. 1. She joined the ITBA as a membership coordinator two years ago, and rose to the role of operations manager. Alex Eade has been named the successor to Charles Barnett as the next Secretary General of the Large Independent Racecourses. Barnett is due to retire after six years in the post. Former G1 Cheltenham Gold Cup and G3 Grand National-winning jockey Robbie Power has been appointed to the Tattersalls Ireland Bloodstock Team, beginning on Monday, Oct. 3. He will assist Tattersalls Ireland with inspections, promotions, pre-sale and sales day matters. Marc Van Gestel, currently Racing New South Wales's General Manager of Integrity and Chairman of Stewards, will become the next Hong Kong Jockey Club Chief Stipendiary Steward (CSS) in January 2023, the HKJC announced on Friday. He replaces current HKJC CSS Kim Kelly, who is retiring after joining the HKJC in 2002 and became the CSS in 2009.
