NH Sale Catalogues To Recognize Point-To-Point Wins

Starting in January, British and Irish point-to-point winning performances will be designated as wins in sales designated as a National Hunt sale. Currently, British and Irish point-to-pointers are classified as runners, but not as winners in the horse subject detail or dam summary line. As part of this change, sales will now be designated as either flat or National Hunt. Flat sales will continue to not treat point-to-point victories as wins. The Goffs UK August Sale, this year extended to two days, opened at Doncaster on Wednesday with a session of horses in training achieving an 88% clearance rate. Tattersalls Cheltenham Autumn Fixtures Changed

Tattersalls Cheltenham will not be hosting the rest of its 2020 sales fixtures at Cheltenham Racecourse due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, the Cheltenham November Sale will take place at Fairyhouse in Ireland on Nov. 12. Tattersalls Ireland has postponed its Derby and May Store Sales due to COVID-19 travel restrictions in Ireland. Figures Up At Goffs UK January Opener

National Hunt mares and short yearlings took to the ring at Doncaster on Tuesday for the first of two sessions of the Goffs UK January Sale. The session returned increases across the board, with the average up 22% to £11,551 and the median soaring 42% to £8,500. The clearance rate for the 108 horses sold was 68%.
