Leave No Trace Sizzles in Vagrancy Victory

A Grade I-winning juvenile at Saratoga, Leave No Trace picked up her second consecutive victory of the season in Saturday's GIII Vagrancy S. Stalking Beguine (Gun Runner) from second through fractions of :22.24 and :44.72, Jose Lezcano called on his charge for more in the lane and she responded, collaring Beguine entering the final furlong. The 8-1 chance took over from there and held the favored California invader Big Pond, making her first start for Bill Mott, safe. Leave No Trace, winner of the 2022 GI Spinaway S., ended a...

Ceiling Crusher Outguns Favored Pretty Mischievous in Cotillion

On paper, it appeared that Pretty Mischievous (Into Mischief), coming into Parx's GI Cotillion S. off three consecutive Grade I victories for Godolphin and Brendan Walsh, held her rivals over a barrel. Despite that fact, Ceiling Crusher (Mr. Big) took full advantage of the soggy, sealed track by going to the front and never looking back enroute to a narrow victory over the 2-1 Classic winner. Breaking to the immediate inside of Pretty Mischievous, the 3-1 co-second choice flashed her usual early speed, leading Majestic Creed (Jimmy Creed) and Hoosier...

Mr. Big Colt Runs Huge Again in Fasig Futurity

Big City Lights was backed as an overwhelming 1-5 favorite here off a gaudy 93 Beyer Speed Figure-earning debut romp against state-bred foes at Santa Anita May 2 and proved that effort was no fluke with another dominant performance Sunday. Immediately in front, the dark bay made it tight on Street Art (Street Boss) heading to the half-mile pole, forcing jockey Kent Desormeaux to take up sharply. But it was smooth sailing for Big City Lights as he glided through fractions of :21.96 and :45.74 before streaking home much the...
