ITBA Educational Programme topics

The Breeding Season Preparation Workshop, which was attended by over 150, was held by the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders' Association (ITBA) this week. The event brought together a panel of industry experts that addressed relevant issues with the aim in making the coming season as successful as possible. Topics included, 'Postnatal Care' by Andrea Ryan, Veterinary Surgeon with Kilcash Equine Clinic; and 'Assisting During Foaling' by Olive O'Connor, consignor and breeder. Following the 'Ask the Expert' Series, the ITBA presents the next portion of its 2022 Educational Programme, the Summer Series. The workshops commence at the end of May and continues through the month of June and will cover a wide range of topics, including equine health and workplace practices. All workshops will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (local time) with all fees having been waived. The 2022 Irish Thoroughbred Breeders' Association Educational programme is being finalised following the confirmation that Ireland's Department of Agriculture will pledge to support and co-fund the initiative. The programme will run from May to December. The ITBA will partner with the Irish Equine Centre, HRI's Equuip and Weatherbys, among others, to oversee the programme.
