Cross Gate Gallery Charity Challenge online auction which concluded May 9 raised over $100,00 to benefit a charity of the buyer's choice. Although the majority serve the Central Kentucky region, donations were made to charities throughout the country. The sale was topped by Larry Wheeler's 'Kentucky River Palisades' and Peter Howell's 'Headed Home, Newmarket'. The artwork realized a combined total of $10,500, therefore contributing $5,250 to each buyer's charity. Cross Gate Gallery of Lexington, KY is hosting an online Charity Challenge Auction which started Thursday, Apr. 30 and will end at 3:00 pm ET Saturday, May 9. The auction features 281 lots, with a mixture of early and contemporary American and British works, as well as some assorted prints, serigraphs, and engravings (many of which are signed).
