Breeding Stock Session Concludes Arqana Jumps Fare

There really is no getting away from Doctor Dino (Fr) this week. Fresh from topping the store and yearling sessions of Arqana's Autumn Sale, he also featured as the covering sire as the top lot of the National Hunt Breeding Stock Sale in Deauville. The mare in question, La Boetie (Fr) (Saint Des Saints {Fr}), was a decent jumper herself, however, as the winner of the G3 Prix Sagan over hurdles for David Cottin.  Consigned by Haras de la Cote Fleurie as Lot 930, the 5-year-old mare was knocked down...

Tangi Saliou: 'I Didn't Have A Euro To My Name At 18 – You Need To Work Hard'

What is the most important thing needed to get a stallion farm off the ground? A lot of people would rightly guess money but, according to Tangi Saliou, hard work trumps all, and his thriving Haras de la Haie Neuve is living proof to that theory.  He may not have had a penny to his name when he embarked on a career in bloodstock a little over 20 years ago, but Saliou now stands nine stallions at Haras de la Haie Neuve, and is convinced that there is little that...

Emma Berry's occasional look at the narrow divide between the Flat and National Hunt Supasundae (GB) was bred for those high summer days at Epsom, Ascot and Goodwood. By Galileo (Ire) and out of a Danehill half-sister to Group 1 winners Nathaniel (Ire) and Great Heavens (Ire), both of whom are also by Galileo, it was no stretch for his breeder Newsells Park Stud to have Classic aspirations for him when he arrived in this world in January 2010.
