With Heavy Rain Forecasted, Santa Anita Cancels Friday's Card

Santa Anita has canceled Friday's card due to heavy rain forecast for the area beginning Thursday. Most of the races scheduled for Friday will be brought back as "extras" on Saturday, according to a notice from the racing office. A heat warning has been issued by the Meteorological Service of Canada to the Toronto area of Ontario, where Woodbine is located. The 2021 White Turf meeting at St. Moritz in Switzerland will not take place due to COVID-19, the St. Moritz Racing Association (SMRA) announced on Thursday. Hamilton Called Off for Friday

Hamilton's eight-race Friday evening card has been cancelled due to areas of false ground, Clerk of the Course Harriet Graham confirmed on Twitter. Thursday afternoon's inspection revealed false patches inside the final 400 metres of the course. The area has received 54mm of rain in the last 48 hours.
