Keeneland November Gets Underway

LEXINGTON, KY--The industry action moves back to Keeneland Monday, just two days after the Lexington oval hosted the Breeders' Cup, for the 10-day Keeneland November Sale, which runs through Nov. 16. The auction opens at 1 p.m. Monday with a single session Book 1, containing 240 head. Thirty minutes prior to that however, Keeneland offers the chance of a lifetime, a 2.5% fractional interest in the undefeated and sensational GI Breeders' Cup Classic winner Flightline (Tapit). The Oct. 19 CTHS Ontario Mixed Sale saw three individuals share the top price of $35,000. The first was a yearling filly by Cairo Prince consigned by Richard G. Keeneland has cataloged 3,691 horses for its 79th November Breeding Stock Sale, which will begin Monday, Nov. 7 after Keeneland hosts the Breeders' Cup World Championships over the weekend prior. The Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association's Breeders Sales of Louisiana held its 2022 Yearling Sale followed by mixed session Oct. 1 at the Equine Sales Facility in Opelousas and it was topped by a $63,000 Cupid colt (Hip 60).
