Minister Martin Heydon Turns Sod on Tipperary All-Weather Track

Martin Heydon, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, turned the sod on the new Tipperary all-weather track on Thursday, marking the beginning of the redevelopment project which is scheduled to be completed by the end of September 2027. All-Weather Track at Tipperary Receives Government Go-Ahead

Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) has received approval from the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Martin Heydon TD, to proceed with the development of a second all-weather track in Ireland at Tipperary Racecourse. The approval of the final business case is the last permission required under the Government's Infrastructure Guidelines. Tipperary Racecourse Gets Green Light For €18 Million All-Weather Development

The introduction of a second all-weather track in Ireland would appear to be imminent after An Bord Pleanála granted permission for construction to get underway at Tipperary Racecourse.   Dundalk became Ireland's first and only all-weather track in 2007 but Horse Racing Ireland have been working hard behind the scenes in recent years for Tipperary to become the second.  Tipperary County Council had granted permission for the development in August 2022 but the project met a roadblock when the decision was appealed by residents close to the racecourse the following month. ...

Eoghan O'Grady Appointed Cork Racecourse Manager

Eoghan O'Grady has been appointed Racecourse Manager at Cork Racecourse Mallow. O'Grady takes up his new role with immediate effect as Andrew Hogan moves to Tipperary Racecourse ahead of a major redevelopment at the track.
