Dam: Loch Lein (Ire) , by Invincible Spirit (Ire)

Owner: Godolphin
Breeder: Epona Bloodstock Ltd
Trainer: Charlie Appleby

Everyone and their dog knew about Godolphin's newcomer Treanmor at Newmarket on Sunday and the €2million Goffs Orby Book 1 topper disappointed nobody as he became Frankel's 43rd TDN Rising Star. Sent off the 30-100 favourite for the opening six-furlong novice, the Charlie Appleby-trained son of Invincible Spirit's Listed scorer and dual Group 3-placed Loch Lein travelled with ease behind the pace before being launched by William Buick two out. Surging to the front and into the clear, he had four lengths to spare over fellow newcomer Vlad by A'Ali at the line.

Appleby has Royal Ascot in mind for the exciting prospect, who was winning the same race as the stable's ill-fated G2 Superlative Stakes winner and G1 Dewhurst Stakes third Ancient Truth 12 months ago. “He's a straightforward horse to deal with and shows a lot of class-the two-year-olds have been running well, so we had a bit of a gauge on him,” he said. “We've never taken him off the bridle at home, so I said to William to be wary of that if he had to ask the question. There should be an abundance of improvement to come. We had pencilled in a plan for the [seven-furlong Listed] Chesham, but he hasn't lacked pace there so we'll see.”

Pedigree Notes
Treanmor is the first foal out of Loch Lein, who was second to none other than St Mark's Basilica at two, had the pace to break her maiden by six lengths over this trip before going on to win the Listed Prix Amandine and be third in the G3 Sceptre Stakes and G3 Fairy Bridge Stakes at or around seven furlongs. She is a half to two Listed-placed performers including Invincible Spirit's Pedestal who was third in the Windsor Castle.

Another of her half-sister My Philly Girl produced two Stakes winners headed by Good Magic's One Magic Philly who captured the GIII Chillingworth Stakes. The third dam Divine Dixie, a half to Stormy Atlantic, produced the GI Blue Grass Stakes-winning sire Bandini and the G3 Sweet Solera Stakes scorer Discourse while the family also features the Hard Spun's GI Ashland Stakes winner Out For A Spin and Dubawi's G1 Prince of Wales's Stakes and triple G1 Dubai Turf hero Lord North. Loch Lein's yearling filly is by Saxon Warrior.
