With paddock buzz in his corner and looks to match, Big Truzz (Justify) did not disappoint his backers as he strolled home to confidently break his maiden at Keeneland and earn 'TDN Rising Star' honors in the process.

Coming into this unveiling, the striking son of Triple Crown winner Justify had a bullet work at Palm Meadows Mar. 28 [four furlongs in :47 flat, fastest of 52] and a work locally Apr. 9 to his credit. That most recent breeze was another four panel work clocked in :49.80 (67/121), and the betting public liked what they saw on paper to the tune of 7-2 odds, making him the second choice.

Away in midpack early as the frontrunner put up splits of :21.56, :44.93, and 1:10.09, Big Truzz was forced to take the overland route as runners to his inside closed ranks for the homeward drive. The looming danger entering the lane, he inhaled the tiring leaders as fellow firster Fact (Instagrand) rallied behind him to try and close the distance. It was four lengths between them on the wire and five back to the 5-2 favorite Valiant Humor (Practical Joke).

Big Truzz is the first offspring and thus the first to the races, for his dam Saralin. She has also produced a juvenile full-brother named Bullet Catch and was bred to both Essential Quality and Medaglia d'Oro for 2025.

The mare is a half-sister to an accomplished fleet of siblings, some of which made a successful transition to the elite level in the States, and hails from a busy female line in South America. Her half-brother Salutos Amigos (Salute the Sarge) claimed the GI Carter Handicap as well as stamping himself as the lord of New York with repeat wins in several Big Apple graded contests. He was also the runner-up in the GI Vosburgh Stakes. A half-sister named Sarah's Secret (Leroidesanimaux {Brz}) was a graded winner before going on to some success as a broodmare.

The second dam Sarasota (Arg) (Luhuk) was a multiple group winner in Argentina whose half and full-sisters went on to produce group and listed black type runners themselves.
