Baffert Filly Looks to Return in 'Style'

The Bob Baffert-trained Fantastic Style (Harlan's Holiday) returns to the races off an eight-month layoff Sunday in the GIII Las Flores S. at Santa Anita. Boasting four wins from six starts, the Kaleem Shah colorbearer rebounded from a third-place finish in Keeneland's GII Beamont S. last April to capture the Angel Flight S. here a month later. Put on the shelf after scoring her first graded success next out in the GII Great Lady M S. at Los Alamitos July 11, the bay displays a speedy string of works since December, most recently firing a five-panel bullet in :59.40 over this strip Mar. 14.

Fantastic Style faces a familiar foe in this test in Doubledown Stables' Ben's Duchess (Munnings). Splitting GSW Uzziel (Harlington) and Amaranth (Mr. Greeley) when second in the C.E.R.F. S. at Del Mar Sept. 6, the John Sadler pupil bested both Uzziel and MGSW Taris (Flatter) next out with a victory in the GIII L.A. Woman S. Oct. 4 and was fourth behind a trio of speedy East Coast rivals in the GI La Brea S. Dec. 26. The chestnut was a never factor last time when finishing a soundly beaten ninth in the GII Santa Monica S. here Jan. 23.

Anthony Fanticola and Joseph Scardino's Sensitively (Street Sense) looks to make good on her “TDN Rising Star” title by scoring her first graded success in this event. Earning that accolade with a 9 1/4-length demolition on debut in Arcadia last February, the Phil D'Amato trainee fell and was vanned off next out in the Santa Paula in April and finished fourth when switched to the turf at Del Mar last August. A disappointing fifth after bobbling at the start when returned to the main track there Sept. 7, the bay returned to the form she showed in her debut with a frontrunning 4 1/4-length success in a first level allowance over this track and trip Feb. 13.
