Drawn to the outside in a field of 12, the bay has been working on a steady interval since the beginning of the year. Emancipation's second dam is GII Black Eyed Susan S. winner Mesabi Maiden (Cox's Ridge) from the deep family of GISW and sire Private Terms (Private Account). The 3-year-old will meet a pair of notable fellow first-time starters in Zayat Stables' $575,000 KEESEP purchase Silberado (Arch) and Juddmonte Farms homebred Mr Classical (Bernardini), who hails from the ever-dangerous Chad Brown barn.
