First-season sire Reliable Man (GB) (Dalakhani {Ire}) recorded his first winner at Trentham in New Zealand on Saturday when the filly Belle Du Nord (NZ) won a 1200 metre maiden by 3 3/4 lengths at third asking. Jockey Lisa Allpress told breednet.com.au, “She's a lovely, big type and one of nicest types I've sat on for a while. She gave me a really good feel and she just powered through them.”

Belle Du Nord is expected to progress to the G1 Manawatu Sires' Produce S. on Apr. 1.

Winner of the G1 Prix du Jockey Club while trained by Alain de Royer-Dupre, Reliable Man became a top-level winner in both hemispheres when winning the G1 Queen Elizabeth S. of 2013 for trainer Chris Waller. The grey stands at Westbury Stud in New Zealand and shuttles to Gestut Rottgen in Germany.
