Wootton was acquired by Godolphin from breeder Haras de Quetieville after plundering his Aug. 22 course-and-distance debut by six lengths in his sole prior outing and registered a career high with another wide-margin success in this contest hallmarked by luminaries such as Montjeu (Ire), Domedriver (Ire) and La Cressoniere (Fr). Positioned off the pace in fourth before slipping to fifth at halfway, he made smooth headway on the bridle in the straight to arrive on the front end with 300 metres remaining and powered clear for mild urging thereafter to easily outclass overmatched rivals by daylight.
Wootton is the leading performer and sole winner produced by G3 Prix du Calvados placegetter American Nizzy (Fr) (American Post {GB}) and is half-brother to the yearling colt Hot Summer (Fr) (Sommerabend {GB}). American Nizzy is a granddaughter of Listed Prix Isola Bella victress Quittance (Riverman), who in turn is out of a winning half-sister to GISP GII Del Mar Invitational Oaks heroine Suivi (Diesis {GB}).
