Vadamos To Stay At Home In France

Andre Fabre | Racing Post

Vadamos (Fr) (Monsun {Ger}), the eye-catching winner of the G2 Prix du Muguet at Saint-Cloud Sunday, will not race outside France this season, with trainer Andre Fabre noting the horse has underperformed both times he has traveled. Vadamos finished last of 13 in the G1 Champion S. in October, and beat one home in the G1 Dubai World Cup Mar. 26.

“I haven't entered him for anything at Royal Ascot,” said Fabre.

“He will run next in the [G1] Prix d'Ispahan [at Chantilly May 24]. He's a very good horse, but each time I've taken him out of France, to Ascot and Dubai, he has disappointed. There are nice races at home for him; he'll probably go to Deauville after the d'Ispahan.”

Fabre does have one for Royal Ascot, however, in Godolphin's Usherette (Ire) (Shamardal), the winner of Newmarket's G2 Dahlia S. Sunday over a loaded field of fillies and mares. The 4-year-old has been entered for the Royal meeting's G2 Duke Of Cambridge S., and is likely for a return trip to Newmarket in the summer for the G1 Falmouth S.
