Group 1-winning miler Vadamos (Fr) (Monsun {Ger}) will shuttle to Rich Hill Stud in New Zealand after the stud, with the support of a high-profile group of New Zealand breeders, purchased a 50% share in the 5-year-old. Among those breeders are Sir Peter Vela of Pencarrow Stud, Greg Tomlinson of Nearco Stud and Kevin Hickman of Valachi Downs. John Camilleri of Fairway Thoroughbreds, breeder of Winx (Aus) (Street Cry {Ire}) and Vancouver (Aus) (Medaglia d'Oro), and Andrea Putsch of Haras de Saint Pair in France, raced Vadamos and remain part of the ownership, and will support him with mares.

“To get this son of Monsun is unbelievable,” said Rich Hill's John Thompson. “He's from one of the Aga Khan's great families and he's one of the best bred Group 1-winning stallions going to stud anywhere in the world.”

Vadamos retires to Ireland's Tally-Ho Stud next year off a campaign that saw him win Chantilly's G1 Prix du Moulin over a mile in addition to the G2 Prix du Muguet and G3 Prix Messidor over the same distance. He was also second in the G1 Prix Jacques le Marois. The Andre Fabre trainee traveled Down Under to contest the G1 Cox Plate and G1 Emirates S., and finished a creditable fourth on both occasions after racing too keen early.
