Uncle Mo Filly Stays Perfect in Del Mar's Desi Arnaz

Dream Tree | Benoit

Dream Tree, a narrow debut winner over the re-opposing Midnight Bisou going six furlongs at Santa Anita Oct. 27, just had enough left in the tank to hold off that foe once again to remain unbeaten here.

Placed in a tracking second through an opening quarter in :22.55 while removing blinkers here, the even-money favorite turned up the heat to challenge for command on the far turn and kicked for home in complete command. Dream Tree began to grow a bit leg weary late, however, and was just saved by the wire.

“It isn't that she pulls herself up; she just idles a little bit in that last sixteenth,” winning rider Drayden Van Dyke said. “She did it the other day (maiden victory) and she did it some again today. They took the blinkers off her today to get her to relax. She's talented; no doubt.”

The winner's dam is also represented by an Uncle Mo filly of 2016 and a Lea colt of 2017. She was bred back to Blame.

Winning owner Phoenix Thoroughbred has made a big splash on the sales scene in the U.S. and abroad throughout 2017 and also campaigns 'TDN Rising Stars' Diamondsandpearls (Congrats) ($1.7-million OBSMAR) and last weekend's GIII Bob Hope S. runner-up Mourinho (Super Saver) ($625,000 OBSMAR).
