Thoroughbred Owner Conference to Feature 'State of the Industry' Address

A panel of industry leaders will participate in a discussion about issues facing the Thoroughbred industry, current measures in place and future plans to solve these issues at the sixth Thoroughbred Owner Conference, OwnerView announced Thursday. The conference will be held at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif., from Monday, Oct. 28, through Wednesday, Oct. 30, and coincides with the Breeders' Cup World Championships, which are scheduled to be held Nov. 1-2 at Santa Anita Park.

Topics for the “State of the Industry” address include racetrack safety, uniform rules, whip restrictions, Lasix use, and the status of the Horseracing Integrity Act. The session will also include time for attendees to ask the panelists questions. Speakers for this panel will be announced at a later date.

“The State of the Industry address at this year's Thoroughbred Owner Conference is a unique opportunity for attendees to hear firsthand what is being done to resolve many industry issues,” said Gary Falter, project manager for the Thoroughbred Owner Conference. “Attendees will have a chance to directly engage with industry leaders about their concerns regarding the Thoroughbred industry. Speakers will be invited to reflect on current events in racing, and I am looking forward to hearing their insights.”

The full conference schedule, as well as more information about the conference, registration, and hotel accommodations, is available at ownerview.com.
