Both were beaten in this course-and-distance contest, so Sheikh Omar Esmil Ghrghar, Carlos and Yann Lerner and Antoine Gilibert's impressive Chantilly winner who earned a TDN Rising Star tag remains of interest for next month's Classic as long as she shows up well. Another unexposed Pouliches entry in the line-up is Prince Faisal's Sindalah (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), an Andre Fabre-trained half-sister to Mishriff (Make Believe) who was off the mark on her debut at Deauville in October.

PORTCULLIS (GB) (Frankel {GB}) starts out for The King and The Queen in this Wood Ditton Maiden which is a longstanding feature of the Craven meeting. The second foal out of the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches heroine Castle Lady (Shamardal), the homebred is introduced by John and Thady Gosden alongside their other runner Santushti (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), Lady Bamford's son of her Prix de Diane heroine Star Of Seville (Duke Of Marmalade).

AMADEUS MOZART (IRE) (Wootton Bassett {GB}) is one of Ballydoyle's Derby entries who takes in this winner's of one contest 10 months after his debut at The Curragh in which the stable's subsequent Group 3 winner Dorset chased him home. From the family of Dutch Art's sire Garswood, he encounters a trio of other winners including Godolphin's duo Maho Bay (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) and Guildmaster (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}). Charlie Appleby has charge of the former, a son of the Natalma Stakes winner La Pelosa (Dandy Man) who won by six lengths on debut at Kempton in December, while the Gosdens saddle Guildmaster who is a full-brother to the Criterium de Saint-Cloud hero Gear Up who impressed at Lingfield also just before Christmas.
