SIYARAFINA (FR) (f, 3, by Pivotal {GB}–Siyenica {Fr} {SW & MGSP-Fr, $102,865}, by Azamour {Ire}), who earned TDN Rising Stardom with an impressive two-length triumph in her Apr. 4 debut over this trip at Saint-Cloud last time, settled last of the seven runners after an adequate break from the outside box in this return. Taking closer order on the bridle once into the home straight, the 3-5 favourite loomed large on the outer with 300 metres remaining and required little encouragement from Christophe Soumillon in the closing stages to easily account for 'TDN Rising Star' Commes (Fr) (Le Havre {Ire}) by 1 1/2 lengths. “She's a lovely filly who had done well at home since her first run,” explained trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre. “It was the plan to adopt hold-up tactics because we didn't want her to do too much too soon from a bad draw. The lack of a strong pace meant she made her challenge a bit earlier than planned, but Christophe [Soumillon] gave her a good ride and she quickened really well. If everything goes to plan, and there are no problems in the meantime, she will most probably be supplemented for the [May 12 G1 Poule d'Essai des] Pouliches.” The homebred bay, who also holds entries in the May 26 G1 Prix Saint-Alary and June 16 G1 Prix de Diane, is the second foal and scorer for MGSP Listed Prix de Bagatelle victress Siyenica (Fr) (Azamour {Ire}) and she is a half-sister to a 2-year-old filly by Invincible Spirit (Ire) and a yearling colt by Golden Horn (GB). Siyenica, herself out of a stakes-winning half to MG1SW sire Slickly (Fr) (Linamix {Fr}), is kin to three black-type performers headed by G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere-winning sire Siyouni (Fr) (Pivotal {GB}) and G1 Sun Chariot S. and GI E.P.
