American Rascal (by Curlin), a 'TDN Rising Star, presented by Hagyard,' and a stakes winner, was added to the stallion roster of Haras Masama in La Pampa, Argentina, according to a post by the website Turf Diario on Friday.
A Stonestreet homebred who was trained by Steve Asmussen, American Rascal broke his maiden on debut at Keeneland in April 2023, which garnered him 'Rising Star' honors. After finishing well-beaten in the G2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot, the 2-year-old netted the Zia Park Juvenile Stakes later that year.
Out of another 'Rising Star' in English and French G1SW Lady Aurelia (Scat Daddy), American Rascal has a full-brother who was foaled in 2025. His extended female family includes second dam D' Wildcat Speed (Forest Wildcat)–the 2003 Horse of the Year in Puerto Rico.
