Online American Racing Manual Released By The Jockey Club

The 2023 edition of The American Racing Manual is now available through The Jockey Club's Fact Book online, the organization said in a release Thursday. The online Fact Book is a statistical and informational guide to Thoroughbred breeding, racing and auction sales in North America and is updated quarterly, with The American Racing Manual serving as a compendium of historical data through 2022. Small Drop in Thoroughbred Foal Crop; 18,500 Projected for 2023

The North American registered Thoroughbred foal crop is projected to be 18,500 in 2023, The Jockey Club (TJC) reported Friday morning. This is 200 fewer foals than last year's estimate of 18,700 and represents the seventh straight year of decline. The last time numbers like this were seen was in 1965, when the foal crop was 18,846. The high-water mark of 51,296 was reached in 1986. The crop has declined every year since then with the exception of 2015. Additional foal crop information is available in TJC's online fact book....

The Jockey Club Publishes Fact Book Chronicle

The Jockey Club has announced it will offer The Jockey Club Fact Book Chronicle as part of its free online Fact Book. The Fact Book Racing Chronicle will offer past performances directly from Equibase, and charts from graded stakes races will be provided through links to equibase.com.
