Affinisea Gelding Leads Part 2 Of The Derby Sale At €80k

A son of Affinisea topped Part 2 of the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale when selling to John Staunton on behalf of Basil Holian. Sold for €80,000, lot 502 was consigned by Clock Tower Stud.  The gelding was pinhooked for €15,500 at the Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale. He is out of New Sensation (Kayf Tara), a relative of G2 River Don Novices' Hurdle heroine Diamant Noir (Sir Harry Lewis). A bay gelding by Poet's Word caught the eye of Ballyboy Stables' Denis Murphy and was knocked down for €52,000 to top the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale Part II on Friday. Arqana Part II Starts With Scandi Buyers Going To €170k For Showcasing Colt

Part II of the October Yearling Sale kicked off on Wednesday with another 124 lots going through the Arqana sales ring, headed by a Showcasing (GB) colt from the Haras du Mont Dit Mont consignment who went the way of Ross Doyle and Meridian International for €170,000.
