LA-Breds To Race For Nearly $6m In Stakes Purses This Year

The Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association will have a nearly $6,000,000 stakes schedule this year the LTBA announced Tuesday. Offered over 67 stakes races, of which 33 will offer a purse of over $100,000, the purses are part of a continuing program to support accredited Louisiana-breds along with incentives for breeders and stallion owners. Louisiana Yearling Sale Catalogue Now Online

The Breeders Sales of Louisiana 2023 Yearling Sale followed by Mixed Session catalogue is now online on the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association (LTBA) website. The auction will be held on Thursday, Sept. 28 at the Equine Sales of Louisiana facility in Opelousas, LA. The printed catalog is in production and will be in the mail mid- to late August.

LTBA Elects Five to Board of Directors

The Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association has elected five members to its Board of Directors. The newly-elected Board members, who will each serve three-year terms, are as follows: Jay Adcock (158), Michelle LaVoice (143), Jim Montgomery (136), Michele Rodriguez (131), Jake Delhomme (126). MK Election Services, an impartial balloting agency, certified the results.

The Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association revealed their 2019 champions headlined by Louisiana Horse of the Year Chimney Rock (Artie Schiller).
