Jockey Club of Canada Graded Stakes Committee Announces Two Upgrades for 2021

The Jockey Club of Canada's Graded Stakes Committee held its annual review of graded and listed stakes races in Canada. The number of graded stakes in Canada will decrease to 41 in 2021, due to individual racetracks choosing to place selected races on hold. Canada's Sovereign Awards Finalists Named

The Jockey Club of Canada has announced the finalists for the 2020 Sovereign Awards, which christens Canada's champions. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 46th Annual Sovereign Awards Ceremony will be held virtually in April. The winners of 12 horse categories and five human categories will be crowned. Virtual Sovereign Awards Ceremony May 19

Canada's version of the Eclipse Awards, the Sovereign Awards is set to be held during a virtual ceremony Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. Eastern time. Jockey Club of Canada Announces Virtual Sovereign Awards

The 2019 Sovereign Awards ceremony was scheduled to take place Apr. 16, but was postpone due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the Jockey Club of Canada has now decided to host the event through a virtual presentation no later than May 31.
